About the PSAT
-
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a multiple-choice standardized exam administered by the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). Each year, approximately 1.3 million high school sophomores and juniors across the United States take the PSAT.
At our school, the PSAT is administered to all 10th-grade students at no cost. It is also available to 11th-grade students, though they must cover the cost of the exam if they choose to participate.
For 11th graders, PSAT scores may be used—with student permission—to determine eligibility for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
The PSAT is scheduled to be administered on October 8.
