This is my seventh year at Deerlake and my fourth teaching 6th grade Science. I graduated from Flagler in 2008 with a dual major in Elementary Education and Exceptional Education.  I love teaching and getting to know your children.  I believe all people learn differently and some need more assistance than others, while others soar. I try to instill the desire for students to use their voices to advocate for themselves, letting all their teachers know what they need to be successful. I also believe that it takes a village to raise a child; I am so happy to be a part of your village. Please do not hesitate to email me or send me a "remind" notice if you need anything!

Personally, I have been married to Ron for 45 years, as of August 4th.  We have two grown children, and three grandchildren, the two older ones are Deerlake students.  Everyone lives in Tallahassee, allowing me to go to their extracurricular activities.  Katie is on the Capital City Rowing Team.  Wes plays Lacrosse for 850. Tilly is in first grade and the busiest with dance, tennis, many activities at school, and softball in the spring. I love to hang out at the beach, or in any body of water, I craft, love to look at open houses on the weekends either here in town or at the beach, read, watch movies, travel (but never enough). I enjoy teaching and retirement is just a word to me and not anything I am thinking about, yet!

Drink: Sweet Tea, Water, and Frozen cola drinks from Circle K.  *I am not a coffee or carbonated beverage person.

Snacks: Chocolate with caramel and nut products, plain or BBQ potato chips, and popcorn

Color: purple- but I love all colors!

Places to Eat:  I like Chick Filla, Taco Bell, Burgers, Chicken, Indian food, Chinese food, Mexican food. Italian food, Oh I just like food!
                                     
When not teaching: Crafting, watch movies, doing activities with my grandkids, love Christmas and Halloween, and going to the gym. I like to go to open houses in Tallahassee or at the beach. I believe heaven is time at the beach! I am always planning my next place to travel anywhere!

Collections: cardinals (not real ones), Wizard of Oz trinkets, and Christmas ornaments (my favorite Christmas gift, especially handmade) 

Things I like in the classroom:  A diverse set of students, aroma therapy diffuser and scents, plug-ins, candles, alternative seating, Lamps so we don't have to have the bright overhead lights on. Glue sticks, scotch tape, pencils (we use a lot during the year) Hard candy to bribe the students. Always: bleach wipes, boxes of tissues, paper towels. Thank you!
